For the crime of money laundering and illicit enrichment, a man and a woman were captured, who were traveling in a vehicle with 570 million pesos.
The money was hidden in the doors of the vehicle that was intercepted by the CTI, with the support of the National Army, in the San Vicente neighborhood of the municipality of Isnos, Huila.
Those involved are Henry Ocampo Smith and Lady Zuleny Benavidez Ordóñez, who were left at the disposal of the Prosecutor’s Office, to be presented before a guarantee control judge for the crime in question.
According to the report issued by the uniformed officers, the money was transported in bundles with bills in denominations of $50,000 and $100,000 surreptitiously. It was the CTI officials, with the support of members of the 27th Infantry Battalion of the National Army, who intercepted the camper where, after an exhaustive inspection, they found the assets.
It should be noted that the occupants of the vehicle did not provide documents supporting the origin and destination of the money, so they were placed at the disposal of a prosecutor from the Special Directorate against money laundering.
