A couple was brutally attacked and robbed in their single-family home in Düsseldorf-Wittlaer. They were threatened by a total of five men and money and valuables were stolen.
According to the police, the two seniors were in their An der Kalvey home when suddenly five men dressed in black and masked stood in front of them early on Thursday around 12:50 a.m. and pushed both of them into the living room. They had apparently forced entry through a window.
The men physically attacked the couple and threatened them with a baton and a knife. The perpetrators then searched the house for valuables and took turns assigning guards for the seniors.
When the search was over after about an hour, they locked the couple in a bathroom and fled in an unknown direction. The robbers stole high-quality watches, jewelry and cash. An immediate search has not been successful so far. The couple remained uninjured.
