NEW YORK – A man was the victim of a violent robbery inside a Popeye fast food restaurant in the Bronx and had to be transported to hospital, authorities said.
According to the police report, the events occurred on Saturday, around 10:00 pm, inside a Popeye restaurant located in the 1500 Bruckner Boulevard, when the victim, a 24-year-old young man, had entered into a verbal dispute with an unidentified woman.
The discussion escalated and it was at that moment when a suspect allegedly hit the victim’s head several times and together with the woman they hit him with one of the signs that said “Wet Floor” and would have taken $ 150 from him before fleeing.
However, authorities said, the events did not end at that time. Later, the woman would have returned to the place, this time without a coat or the wig she was wearing during the incident, to collect the food order.
Both, the man and the woman, would have fled in a black 4-door sedan.
The victim, who suffered a laceration to his right eye and swelling to his head, was transported in stable condition to St. Barnabas Hospital.
