The Chamois Niortais will not participate in the edition of the Coupe de France next season (2021-2022). So decided the DNCG, the financial policeman of French football, this Wednesday morning, taking into account in particular the fact that the 2020-2021 season has already started, in particular in the Coupe de France (hence the exclusion of Niort for the next season’s edition).

The highest fine
This decision follows “non-compliance with the control procedure before the change in the club’s reference shareholder took place last August”. This sanction takes effect from this Wednesday, September 9, 2020 and is accompanied by a fine of € 250,000, the highest in the matter.

To take this double sanction, the DNCG relied on the scale of disciplinary measures made available to it in Annex 2 to the agreement binding the FFF to the LFP, in particular in paragraph 2. If the financial gendarme decided to inflict two of the three possible sanctions on Niort, he did not go until the third, which allowed him to demote him by one division.
