Coupang, an e-commerce company, is withdrawing after about two years of entering the Japanese market. The Nihon Keizai Shimbun (Nikkei) reported on the 11th that Coupang will end its food and household goods delivery service in parts of Tokyo from the 21st. Coupang Japan explained to Nikkei, “As a result of operating the service on a trial basis, we have decided to withdraw.” Previously, Coupang started trial operation of Coupang service in some areas of Tokyo, Japan from June 2021. It is a combination of rocket delivery and Coupang Eats, which are delivered by a delivery person immediately upon ordering a product. Coupang has dealt with about 5,000 products in partnership with Takashimaya, a department store, and Daiso, a general store.
