“To choose his own or for his passion (and therefore his profession), a difficult dilemma that he will not be able to resolve. It will therefore be divided between the two ”. Once a month, Robert Bouroult rode his motorcycle, then later got behind the wheel of his 2 CV, to cover the 250 km which separate Pontarlier from Nancy. The painter could not resist the call of Haut-Doubs. With the magnetism of this small piece of so natural region, its conifers, its cows, its lake, which Denis Bauquier admires as much as this master of the Comtoise pictorial school.
This homage paid through this book could not have existed without the “precious collaboration” of the children of Robert Bouroult, Pierre and Annette. “One gave me a lot of information and anecdotes. The other told me at length about his father. Memories came back to him like his workshop with all his paintings, the holidays on the shores of Lake Saint-Point and the fishing trips, the sound of his motorbike when he returned to Nancy to find his family ”.

1921: he enters the National School of Fine Arts in Paris.
1924: he creates the Annonciades in Pontarlier with Charigny, Fernier and Roz. He exhibited there until 1964.
February 27, 1928: he marries Geneviève Leméasle.
1968: last exhibition at the Steuber gallery in Besançon.
1970: he leaves Pontarlier and his workshop to definitively join his wife Geneviève in Nancy.
September 17, 1975: he is buried in Nancy.
