Romania is a leader in the EU when it comes to fatal accidents. The speed of drivers, the multitude of traffic debris, poor quality roads, speed, fatigue or alcohol consumption are on the list of factors that generate serious accidents in which thousands of Romanians die annually. In Timiș, however, the number of serious accidents has decreased substantially this year.
We mention that in Timiș County in the first 6 months of 2021 there were 51 road accidents resulting in 17 deaths and 40 seriously injured, compared to the same period last year when there were 79 traffic accidents resulting in 27 of dead and 63 seriously injured.
Although the figures are on a downward scale, we still recommend all road users to pay special attention to traffic, not to rush because the time they earn is negligible, compared to the repercussions of non-compliance with traffic rules.
Given that it is the summer season and citizens are rushing to reach the destinations chosen to spend their vacation, we convey that traffic police will be on duty and will perform daily actions on the main arteries in Timiș County to prevent the main causes of accident.
