Dunakeszin celebrated the establishment of our Christian state, the feast of Saint Stephen, in an unusual way. On Katonadomb tonight, we, the residents of Dunakeszi, were part of a real magic.
We saw the world premiere of the oratorical work “The Kingdom of the Holy Crown” performed by the Dunakeszi Symphony Orchestra and its guests. Not only the large equipment (200-person choir and 70-person orchestra, nearly 200 m2stage, 12-meter wide LED wall) has impressed us tonight, but also the oratorio with a historical theme, with a Christmas tone, and the composer is Róbert Gulya, the lyricist is the legal historian Dr. Tibor Varga, writer and artist, writer, producer, director Géza Kaszás.
The director Pál Farkas worked with great experience and enthusiasm to bring the actors together. The play’s five movements are: Creation, Holy Kings, Glory to God, Only the Heart Remains and Our Blood with Our Blood. The latter is an anthem, announcing, summarizing, and celebrating the country’s happier future. We had the opportunity to enjoy the heartwarming themes performed by solo musicians with beautiful voices as well as the choir. Liszt prize-winning artist Szilvia Rálik played the role of the Blessed Mother, the mother goddess. Bass-baritone Manuel Betancourt, who lives in Dunakesz, made his debut in the roles of Szent István and Szent László.
This cultural event of national importance was a fitting end to the series of St Stephen’s Day celebrations in our city. Minister of Justice Bence Tuzson, Member of Parliament and Mayor Csaba Dióssi also spoke proudly and gratefully about the special performance and work of the artists.
Those of us who were there and stood and applauded the performers and creators, and the partners who worked hard in the background, took this show to heart.
