Country Music Star Morgan Wallen Arrested for Allegedly Throwing Chair from Nashville Bar Rooftop
Country music sensation Morgan Wallen was reportedly captured on surveillance footage as he allegedly hurled a chair off the rooftop of a Nashville bar on Sunday night, narrowly missing police officers below, according to reports. Wallen, 30, was arrested on the scene and is now facing multiple charges of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
Caught on Surveillance Footage
The blurry video clip, acquired by TMZ, reveals an unidentified object being tossed from the Chief’s Bar rooftop. It quickly plummeted to the ground, landing a mere three feet away from Metropolitan Nashville Police officers on the bustling downtown street. The incident occurred shortly after 10:45 p.m.
Arrest and Charges
Following the chair-throwing incident, Morgan Wallen was promptly arrested for recklessness and disorderly behavior. The Chief’s Bar, owned by fellow country singer Eric Church, became the scene for Wallen’s arrest. He was taken into custody and later booked into the Davidson County jail, where he was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct.
Penalties and Release
Boasting a wide smile, Morgan Wallen’s mugshot was released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. His bond was set at $15,250, an amount that Wallen promptly posted, resulting in his release from prison around 3:30 a.m. the following morning.
A History of Recklessness
This is not the first incident where Wallen’s night out has led to brushes with the law. In May 2020, he faced charges of intoxication and disorderly conduct after being kicked out of Kid Rock’s Honky Tonk bar in downtown Nashville. Furthermore, Wallen received a DUI charge in 2016, although this case was ultimately dropped.
A Controversial Past
Morgan Wallen found himself in the headlines for all the wrong reasons in February 2021. A video obtained by TMZ recorded Wallen using a racial slur, causing a major public outcry. He later apologized for his offensive language and attributed it to the influence of alcohol.
Legal Proceedings
The Davidson County Criminal Court has scheduled Wallen’s next court appearance for May 3, where he will face the consequences of his recent actions. Wallen’s representatives have yet to release any statements in response to the incident.
