Counterparts on the location of jobs in the plan for aeronautics, announces Jean-Baptiste Djebbari

A plan will be presented this week by the Secretary of State for Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari.

Support plans follow one another. After the automobile, aeronautics will be targeted by state support. Jean-Baptiste Djebbari has already announced eight billion euros for this “sectoral support plan”. With three objectives: to restart air traffic, to ensure that the immediate and massive effects of the crisis have been absorbed and to relaunch the activity with the aim of “coming out stronger than we entered it”.

In terms of the environment, for example, “this means that groups such as Airbus, Safran or Thales will be able to produce the hybrid aircraft in 2027, in 2035 the ‘green’ aircraft: this is the industrial challenge of next ten years and that requires investing a lot now to be ahead of the Chinese, ahead of the Americans, in ten years. “

It also requires “to have strong counterparts on the location of employment in France, in Europe, which we ask them” (to industrialists), he added.

Localized jobs

“It is obvious that if the French State, if the European Union invests very strongly to support employment first, and then creates advantages for the next ten years, we ask that part of the activity is localized, when it is new, or relocated “when possible, and that the industry takes” guarantees for employment “, said Jean-Baptiste Djebbari.

Since this plan will mean investments of “several billion euros over a fairly long period”, “we are going to ask the aeronautics industry for visibility,” he added, asking that its necessary transformation allows to “locate or perpetuate jobs in France”. The plan will include “various support funds” to consolidate the industry, one of which will aim to rise “to a billion euros,” said the secretary of state. These funds will be used in particular to “guard against hostile commercial strategies” in progress.

The Secretary of State thus evoked “attempts” to take control of French companies, in difficulty and holding “critical skills”, by foreign industrial companies.
