Counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine – Institute for the Study of War described the situation near Kherson – UNIAN

Analysts noted that the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the south of the country is already confirmed by the Ukrainian authorities.

Ukrainian officials are increasingly recognizing the counter-offensive operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kherson areas.

This is discussed in a new report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Analysts note that over the past week, Ukrainian defenders have damaged all three bridges leading to Kherson, which are controlled by the occupiers. In addition, on the night of July 24, Ukrainian partisans blew up the railway near Novobogdanivka, 30 km north of occupied Melitopol.

“Fissure geolocation footage shows cracks at the railway junction at Novobogdanivka, which cuts off Vasylivka and Tokmak, Zaporizhia Oblast, from the main rail line to Melitopol. Ukrainian officials have said Russian troops are using the railroad to transport equipment and personnel from Melitopol towards Vasylivka and Tokmak,” the statement said.

As noted, the occupiers yesterday attempted to carry out limited ground attacks in the Kherson region. They also continued shelling along the entire front line in the southern direction.

“Ukrainian counter-battery fire hit a battery of Russian S-300 launchersreportedly from HIMARS, near Zelenotropinsky Kherson region. Footage and images of the area from Russian and Ukrainian sources show two destroyed S-300 launchers. The Ukrainian mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, said that Ukrainian forces also attacked the Russian-occupied Melitopol airfield on the night of July 23-24 and that Russian forces were unsuccessfully trying to restore the airfield,” ISW said.

Remember July 23 Armed Forces of Ukraine “with surgical precision” hit the Darevsky bridge across the Ingulets in the Kherson region.

Earlier, on July 19, the Ukrainian military hit the Antonovsky bridge in occupied Kherson, which connects the city with the left bank of the Dnieper.

In British intelligence they call the main vulnerability of the Russian army in the Kherson region the Antonovsky bridge. That is why control over the crossings across the Dnieper can become a key factor in the fighting in the Kherson region.
