A group of counterfeiters detained in Kiev

The defendants were detained in Kiev after the sale of another batch of currency with signs of counterfeiting in the amount of two thousand US dollars.

The police have exposed a cross-regional group of counterfeit currency traders. About it informs Police communication department of Zhytomyr region.

“On October 11, detectives of the GUNP Investigation Department, together with regional SBU operatives, exposed two men in organizing a scheme for the receipt and distribution of counterfeit foreign currency on the territory of Kiev and Zhytomyr regions. Now both defendants have been detained,” the message says.

Law enforcers have established the involvement of a 62-year-old resident of Kiev and a 49-year-old resident of Zhytomyr in fraud with counterfeit currency. While documenting their illegal activities, detectives recorded repeated facts of selling counterfeit money by them.

The defendants were detained in Kiev after the sale of another batch of currency with signs of counterfeiting in the amount of two thousand US dollars. On the same day, police investigators conducted 11 searches at the places of residence and temporary stay of the members of the group.

The sanction of the article provides for liability in the form of imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years with confiscation of property.

Earlier it was reported that in Odessa detained the counterfeiter from the NSDC list. A Russian citizen organized a criminal group in Ukraine that was involved in the sale of large amounts of counterfeit currency.
