“The head of the cabinet cannot be equally distant from everyone, on the contrary – he must be equally close. I don’t know if it is possible to find a person in Bulgaria who enjoys the trust of everyone. I don’t think such a political prodigy exists. Subsequently, it will be equidistant to someone. Such a person will be uncontrollable and irresponsible. In addition, I practically do not see him proposing a composition of the MS. This is more of a proposal to everyone else outside GERB for an expert office,” commented Zhelyazkov.
With at least 80 deputies, Borisov will be prime minister, the former head of the parliament said in the “Face to Face” show on BTV.
Zhelyazkov considered the various options after the elections and under which of them the leader of GERB Boyko Borisov would be the candidate for Prime Minister.
People want to hear from the parties assurance that there will be a government, Zhelyazkov said at the beginning of the conversation.
Politicians must be careful with words and gestures. Making compromises is hard, but you have to know why you’re making them, he pointed out.
Borisov is Bulgaria’s most successful prime minister, a three-time prime minister with clear indicators of achieved success, Zhelyazkov said. And he emphasized that GERB sympathizers recognize Borisov as a natural leader.
At least one third of the mandates, 80 deputies – this is how Zhelyazkov outlined the presentation of GERB, in which Borisov would be a candidate for prime minister.
If there is a possibility of a coalition formula, no names are discussed at the beginning, because the names can overturn the cart, he did not hide.
“Emotion is a bad advisor, that’s why on election night you don’t talk to who can and who can’t. When there is a similarity of ideas and principles, conversations are held. The most stable will be a coalition between the first two political forces. We are aware that the party’s dignity has a clear bearer. Borisov never felt like the Sun King. He resigned twice,” recalled the candidate from GERB-SDS.
“Borisov has no weakness, because GERB won the elections even after the assembly, where we were jointly responsible. So whose weakness is it a pun. Our proposal is to make a coalition formula with very clear indicators of the implementation of the agreements with the DB and support from another formation if we do not get a majority. This is our natural partner,” said Rosen Zhelyazkov.
“If PP-DB do not want to participate in a coalition with GERB, we will propose a minority government and expect them to support us on various policies,” he also stated.
