The Olympic torch was lit in ancient Olympia and will arrive in France on May 8 in the port city of Marseille, after a voyage on the three-masted ship, Belem.
All the permanent infrastructure of the Games is now ready and in Paris the construction of the provisional sites has begun, especially in the Place de la Concorde.
The organizers will count on the relay of the flame throughout France so that the atmosphere heats up in the country as the Games approach from July 26 to August 11.
Last month a poll revealed that, in France, 57 percent of people had little or no enthusiasm for the Paris Games.
On Tuesday, Paris 2024 posters were displayed in metro stations and some emblematic monuments paid tribute to the upcoming Games, while the stairs leading to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart were painted in the colors of the Games.
