At the end of this week, vaccination in Colombia returned to levels close to 300,000 daily doses. In this regard, the Minister of Health, Fernando Ruiz, acknowledged that the number is unusual, since in recent weeks the country has presented a significant reduction in the rate of vaccination.
The minister warned that possibly what was observed on the last day corresponds to a lag in the registration of the information on the doses applied daily.
“In one department of the country – the minister noted – he found vaccines that had not been applied and that were all reported at the same time”.
Another possible failure would be presenting in the registration of the second doses, because according to what he said, it is difficult to believe that in first doses the daily report is growing while in second doses a significant lag persists.
He added that “it is important that we do that review because we are likely to have fewer first doses and a lot more people vaccinated with second doses.”
Ruiz expressed the need for the Secretaries of Health to be more judicious in the registration of data
