Council of Ministers Should Not Have Exceptional Authority to Grant Citizenship

Umut Ersoy, a candidate for the Independence Road Deputy, answered Ali Kişmir’s questions as a guest of the Cyprus File program on TV20.

There should be a working representative in the parliament where the bosses start to run javelin

Ersoy pointed out that the security measures that are said to be taken after the earthquake have not been taken yet and said that we need to keep the building security issue on the agenda for our living people. Reminding that they wanted to make changes in the Zoning Law and the Union of Cyprus Turkish Engineers and Architects Law before the earthquake, Ersoy mentioned that the relevant law amendments were frozen after the earthquake, but the change plan came to the agenda of the parliament recently. Ersoy, who said that the intention in the law amendment was completely rent and capital-oriented, and that the people and city planners were left aside, said that in this case, you are either on the side of the public or you are on the side of the capital. Ersoy, saying that we reject the understanding that changes with daily agendas and is made by reactionary opposition, said that the current opposition does not confront the capital, the Ankara rulers, and did not bring the concrete rights of the people to the parliament as a project.

Transition to Light Rail System in Public Transport, Supported by Minibus and Bus Lines

Ersoy, who gave examples about the public transportation system in the program he attended, said that the absence of public transportation benefited the importers of fuel, cars and spare parts. Ersoy stated that they have been saying for years that the Independence Road should be supported by public transportation with light rail, minibus and bus lines. Mentioning that the Minister of Transport, Erhan Arıklı, signed a public transport master plan contract with Düzce Municipality, Ersoy pointed out that Düzce Municipality was full of irregularities and the traffic systems were different. Ersoy said that this issue was not on the agenda in the parliament.

The Opposition Does Not Produce Alternatives

Mentioning the issues of Kıb-Tek, public energy policies and AKSA, Ersoy emphasized that the opposition did not produce an alternative, and said that the solution was the termination of the contract with AKSA and the expropriation of AKSA, and that the draft law on the Independence Road was also ready.

A new work permit should not be issued until unemployment falls below a certain rate.

Stating that they determined that there is a three-pronged population flow as the Independence Road, Ersoy said that these are students, work permits and the incoming population flow by waving their arms. Waving his hand, he stated that in order to prevent those who come, entry and exit with ID cards should be stopped and there should be strict immigration controls. Stating that it is in the interests of capital groups to bring workers from abroad with a work permit so that the labor force will be cheaper, Ersoy stated that until unemployment falls below a certain rate, new work permits should not be issued except for existing work permits or jobs that require expertise. He added that the students became illegal workers after enrolling in the school.

Council of Ministers Should Not Have Exceptional Authority to Grant Citizenship

Mentioning that the Council of Ministers should not have the authority to grant citizenship exceptionally, Ersoy said that a new and contemporary citizenship law should be made and that citizenship should be tied to certain criteria in the law. He stated that the criteria they propose as the Road to Independence are under the headings of year, law, culture exam and quota, as in the rest of the world.

Ersoy, who said that they developed a structure to be grateful to political parties, said that we need to transfer the alternatives of this system to the society. Emphasizing that he should be the laborer’s representative in the assembly, where the bosses are trying to run wild, Ersoy said, “A person can be a fly in the soup, it can make the interests of the labor sick in their faces.”
