While he could pay the price for the reorganization of the police force suggested by the Homeland Security White Paper published last month, the Coulommiers (Seine-et-Marne) presents a report on delinquency satisfying 1is December.
An elucidation rate up eight points
First, the elucidation rate, all cases combined, stands at 35% out of a total of just over 3,000 legal proceedings. “Which is very good, especially since it is up by eight points”, specifies the commander. Laurent Zuczek, appointed head of the police station in September 2019. Internal reorganizations and concomitant renovations, vectors of “a real positive influence” on the police, are reflected in the figures.
Damage to property fell by 29.6% in one year, in the wake of offenses related to automobile and two-wheelers, which fell sharply (-44% and -75% respectively). Attacks against people have increased slightly (+ 6%, or 343 incidents).
A reorganization of work internally
Concretely, Commander Zuczek instituted a security and proximity group (GSP), a support unit for emergency police officers, on the road 7 days a week. “The GSP does everything that the police-rescue unit cannot, such as road checks or pedestrian patrols at the station,” sums up the officer. We have targeted the most accident-prone niches and increased our presence on Saturdays and Sundays. “
Result, on the public highway, the national police officers of Coulommiers had carried out, always at 1is December, 5,279 interventions this year. Half of them are in the nature of emergency police, but there are also just under 600 roadside checks. Across the constituency (nine municipalities including Coulommiers), columériens police officers noted 243 speeding tickets, 81 driving license defects, 41 driving while intoxicated and 16 under the influence of narcotics.
Behind the road accidents, the fight against narcotics is rightly placed in the list of priorities of the Ministry of the Interior. In this context, investigators are dedicated to drugs since 1is March and thus complete the urban security paraphernalia made up of 24 investigators. “Everyone has their heads under water less, the agents show initiative and the investigations are more relevant”, assures Laurent Zuczek.
