Could the tri-state area see record temperatures on Sunday? – Telemundo New York (47)

NEW YORK — If it seems like it’s been hot in New York City lately, that’s because it really is.

For the fifth time in less than four weeks, a record for the city and its surroundings is approaching.

Some areas even have a chance of 70 degrees, even though it’s still technically winter.

Although on Friday, we will end the work week with a sunny but cool day with highs in the 30s this afternoon, the good news is that cold northwesterly winds will move to the southwest, giving way to warmer air by the end of week, with highs tomorrow Saturday close to 50 degrees and possible record temperatures on Sunday with highs in the 70s.

This warmer air will be accompanied by some showers Saturday through Sunday and another low pressure bringing more rain Monday through Tuesday when temperatures drop into the 50s.

Friday
Maximum: 38 degrees; sunny and cold; partly to mostly cloudy night with lows in the 30s

Saturday
Maximum: 47 degrees; mostly cloudy

Sunday
Maximum: 68 degrees; cloudy with rain

Monday
Maximum: 60 degrees; cloudy with rain

Tuesday
Maximum: 50 degrees; morning rain
