In response to a question presented in the Helldivers official Discord channel (via VideoGamer), Arrowhead Game Studio community manager Twinbeard clarified that the launch on Xbox consoles is not completely ruled out. It seems that the developers want to carry it out, but this depends more on Sony and Microsoft than on them, as Twinbeard explained.
“Who says that [Helldivers 2] I couldn’t [llegar a Xbox]?” commented Twinbeard. “It’s not up to us, it’s up to Sony and Phil, but hypothetically speaking, If both partners believe it would benefit them from a financial/branding point of view, it could. But if Sony thinks not, they won’t do it.”
Helldivers 2 was launched on the market in February 2024 for PlayStation 5 and PC accompanied by very positive reviews and achieving many records on Steam. For example, eight months ago he managed a historical peak of 458,709 simultaneous players on the Valve platform, as can be seen in SteamDB.
