With firm steps towards the final of the U-21 League of the Salvadoran Basketball Federation (FESABAL), Cougars and Itexsal will face each other in the first semifinal duel, while the other classified, Brujos de Izalco, is waiting for the rival that will arise from the series between Santa Tecla Municipal 1 and Arcense.
Águila San Miguel fell again to Cougars, this time 49-64, while Itexsal beat Salvadoreños 81-50, so they won their respective series 2-0 and will face each other on Sunday, February 18 at the City facilities. Inclusive Sports (CDI).
The second meeting between the feathered and Cougars was marked by the latter’s insistence on scoring points, so much so that they finished the first period 9-14. The actions were even in the second half, as both scored 14 points for a total of 23-28.
The pumas went out to the CDI court with the aim of extending the lead and this was thanks to the aim of José Bonilla, who contributed 13 points in the third period that ended 11-19, for a global 34-47.

Itexsal, imposing
The Itexsal representatives opened the scoring with a spectacular three-point shot executed by Diego Rivera and quickly took control of the game and the advantage in the first period, closing the first set 26-11 over Salvadoreños.
The overwhelming attitude of the Salesians was even more evident in the second quarter, as they scored 23, while Salvadoreños only managed to add 5, so the overall score reflected 49-16 points before going to halftime.
The offensive work of Diego Hernández in the third period was valuable for Itexsal, because thanks to the seven points he scored, they expanded the advantage over the rival by closing the period 16-11. The general scoreboard already reflected a wide advantage for the Salesians with a score of 65-27.
Salvadorans reacted in the fourth half with six double shots that Erick Rodríguez made and managed to score 23 points against 16 that the Salesians added, but overall the latter were superior, finishing with 81-50.
For its part, Brujos de Izalco won the series 2-0 by beating San Marcos Bulldogs 82-38 in the first match, and in the second they won 84-56 to wait for their rival in the semis, which will be the winner of the duel between Santa Tecla Municipal 1 and Arcense.
For its part, Santa Tecla Municipal 1 fell 77-79 against Arcense, but in the second match the Tecleños vindicated themselves and tied the series 1-1 by winning 84-90, so they will define the classification next Thursday, February 15 at 7:00 pm, at the Inclusive Sports City.
