The Agricultural Show allows “Côte-d’Oriens farmers to make themselves known”

“Achieving excellence at the Paris International Agricultural Show is the fruit of a will and a passion”, declared François Sauvadet (read our article). “The International Agricultural Show allows Côte-d’Oriens farmers to make themselves known”, continued Vincent Lavier.

The President of the Department recalled the recent projects implemented in favor of agriculture in the region, such as the “Côte-d’Or Tour”, organized in Paris, aimed at bringing together “all those who love the Côte-d’ However, visit it, discover it and taste it […] with prestigious sponsors”.

The speaker pointed out the prize of excellence received by Arnaud Sabatier for his marbled ham, also approved by the committee of the territorial brand Savoir-faire 100% Côte-d’Or (read our article).

“Our Côte-d’Orient agricultural model must be supported”

“In a world undergoing profound change, our Côte-d’Orient agricultural model must be supported. It responds to an aspiration of our compatriots and to a better quality of life. (…) It is part of a perspective of high environmental value”, noted the president of the Department.

“Climate change requires us to act today, each in their own activities,” analyzed the centrist. “By 2050, it is expected that water needs for livestock will increase by 2.45% while resources will decrease by 20%”.

In response to this problem, the community plans to put in place “a new departmental water plan, which aims to guarantee sustainable access to quality water, at an affordable price, everywhere in the territory and for all uses. , including agricultural.

Objective 80% local products in school menus

The Savoir-faire 100% Côte-d’Or brand brings together nearly 400 producers. Some supply the canteens of the colleges of Côte-d’Or while the departmental majority aims to integrate into the menus “80% of local products within 5 years”.

At the same time, Vincent Lavier welcomed the youngest present in the medal-winning farmers because “young people are the future of the agricultural model and of the profession”.

See you at the 2024 Agricultural Show

After the official speeches, all the medalists received a plaque stamped “Savoir-faire 100% Côte-d’Or” and discussed during a moment of conviviality in the lounge of the Hotel Esmonin de Dampierre.

Appointment is already given for the next edition of the International Agricultural Show which will take place in Paris from February 24 to March 3, 2024, and where farmers from Côte-d’Or will once again be present.
