Updated on November 10, 2020:
By a message on Twitter, the president of the departmental council of Côte-d’Or indicates: “The SNCF confirms to me that from November 12, a TGV was repositioned earlier, for a departure from Dijon at 7:24 and from Montbard at 8:01 am (arrival in Paris at 9:04 am) ”.
Press release from the Côte-d’Or departmental council of November 3, 2020:
The Department reacts to the abolition of the TGV stop at Montbard at 7:01 a.m., again without consultation
I have just learned that with the new period of confinement, the SNCF has just announced the cancellation of 75% of TGVs nationwide, and in particular the reduction from 7 to 2 round trips per day between the Coast -d’Or and Paris. This decision therefore confirms the abolition of the TGV stop from Montbard to Paris in the morning at 7:01 am on our territory.
I protest against this arbitrary decision taken without consultation and which prohibits everyday users from being able to reach their workplace in Paris.
I immediately seized the Prefect as well as the regional director of the SNCF to review as quickly as possible this incomprehensible decision while the government wants everyone to be able to work.
Teleworking is indeed the announced rule, but many of our fellow citizens cannot help but travel.
On October 6, we already learned of the suspension of the TGV stop from Montbard to Paris, in the morning at 8:01 a.m., causing severe constraints for the population of this large rural area who goes to Paris to work there.
The SNCF must offer a real round-trip solution enabling users leaving Montbard to go to Paris to work there, with a time range compatible with a working day; which is no longer the case with these cancellations.
The health crisis linked to the Covid-19 pandemic is impacting all sectors of the economy, and in particular transport, but it is essential that we be able to maintain the horizon of a resumption of rail service on its pre-date format. health crisis when a return to normal is possible.
The rapid reopening of these lines and of traffic capacities represents a major and vital territorial issue for our catchment area.
