Odienné, June 17, 2022 (AIP)- The Odienné emergency rescue center hosted, on Friday June 17, 2022, a blood collection operation which mobilized a large number of staff, driven by the desire to extend the assistance they provide, on a daily basis, to accident victims.
Chief of the civilian firefighters of Odienné, Sergeant-Chief Ibrahima Bamba takes action in the direction of “continuity of the mission”, in a context of real needs for blood products observed by his men and him from the position of privileged witnesses of the dramas that occur.
“We see accident victims every day whose condition requires a transfusion. We want to contribute to their good recovery. By making this blood donation, we experience the feeling of helping at all levels of the care chain, from the start of the accident and at the end. We thus feel relief”, he translated.
He expressed his thanks to the elements who contributed to making concrete what was initially only an idea of one of their own, Sergeant Zana Koné.
The foyer of the barracks welcomed the head of the Odienné blood transfusion unit, Dr Amani Kouamé and his collaborators for the various acts.
Dr Kouamé welcomed an operation which comes at the right time, in a context of slight shortage of blood, at the level of the antenna, housed within the Regional Hospital Center (CHR) of Odienné. He expressed his gratitude to the civilian firefighters and all the other volunteers who made the trip, also marking his joy at the mobilization.
In less than a month, the Odienné blood transfusion center benefited from the solicitude of workers. Teachers gathered within the local section of the Network of dynamic teachers of Côte d’Ivoire (REDICI), had donated blood on May 26.
