Agboville, Feb 19, 2023 (AIP) – The Platform of Civil Society Organizations of Agboville (POSAG) organized Saturday, February 18, 2023, a blood donation operation, at the blood transfusion center, to save lives.
“If we are here, it is for a noble cause. Beyond the simple gesture of donating blood, we see an act of self-sacrifice, altruism and love for one’s neighbour,” said POSAG President N’Cho Chayé.
Mrs. N’Cho congratulated and thanked the donors, before encouraging them to continue donating blood.
The representative of the head of the Agboville blood transfusion unit, Djokouehi Affoussiata, stressed the importance of this operation which is welcome in order to be able to resolve several emergency cases.
“At the hospital, there are needs. Anemia due to malaria, cases of bleeding in delivery rooms, during operations when patients need transfusions, cases of accidents where the emergency must be lifted when the patient is in need. The need can be me or you or whoever. No one is immune,” said Ms. Djokouehi.
She indicated that several mobile blood donation operations are planned by the blood transfusion unit, to which are added those initiated by organizations and structures.
