Costel Corduneanu would have some health problems and would be in a clinic in Germany. Even if he was not brought to the hearings, Costel Corduneanu is obliged to appear before the investigators.
In recent days, several buildings owned by the Corduneanu family have been raided by the investigators. The reason? It appears that some members of the Corduneanu family were involved in dubious “business”. The detectives they entered Costel Corduneanu’s apartment and in the villa owned by his brother Adriano. There, law enforcement officials would look for evidence proving that the Corduneanu brothers were involved in dirty business.
Searches in different areas of the country
What is certain is that the police officers of the General Directorate of Police of the Bucharest Municipality – Violent Criminal Group Service carried out 123 house search warrants, targeting homes and buildings owned or used by multiple natural persons, as well as offices and workplaces of legal entities of the city of Bucharest and the counties of Prahova, Brașov, Iași, Suceava, Botoșani, Tulcea, Constanța, Cluj, Timiș, Vrancea, Buzău, Bihor, Vâlcea, Dolj, Gorj, Sibiu, Bacău, Mureș and Salaj.

“In the case, it was found that, starting in 2018, a nationwide organized crime group was formed, whose purpose was to commit mainly blackmail crimes. Members of the group tried to prevent the expansion of gambling halls in competition with those they operated and to suppress attempts by other members of the underworld to take control of the halls belonging to the group.
For this purpose, a force structure was created, which served to prevent some customers who made significant profits from taking ownership. Such a structure ensured the nationwide functioning of an illegitimate coercive system which was intended to prevent trouble-causing customers from re-entering gambling halls belonging to the organized criminal group and to rapidly recover from them the damages done to the assets in the premises”, the investigators said through – a press release.
It remains to be seen what will happen after the hearings. It must be said that Adrian Corduneanu was in custody at the time the searches were carried out.
