San José, Jul 23 (elmundo.cr) – Data from the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS), with a cutoff of July 17, confirm that 1,034,052 doses against seasonal influenza have been applied, representing an advance of 68.9%.

In the child population, older than 6 months and younger than 7 years, 136,667 doses have been applied, reaching a coverage percentage of 29%. Regarding the population from 7 to 57 years old, with the presence of a chronic disease, 450,105 doses have already been applied. Of this group, the list is headed by people with respiratory diseases (220,110), with some degree of obesity (95,767), with heart disease (62,996) and diabetics (32,883). Similarly, 30,422 pregnant women, regardless of their gestational age, have attended to be vaccinated, which represents 74.7% of this population. In the group of adults aged 58 years and over, with or without risk factors, 372,773 doses have been placed for a vaccination coverage of 42%.
