Costa Rica will have a cocaine record in 2020

The Policía de Control de Drogas (PCD) in Costa Rica seized 2,900 kilos of cocaine on Tuesday. The cocaine packages were in different containers that were checked at APM Terminals in Moín, near Puerto Limón. Costa Rica is heading for a cocaine record this year.

The containers were selected for inspection after a risk analysis. The final destination of the containers was the port of Antwerp.

Costa Rican Security Minister Michael Soto stated that this catch has already exceeded the amount of cocaine seized in 2019. In 2019, a record amount of 38,000 kilos was intercepted in the country.
