PLN as the state’s electric energy provider provides convenience for electric car users, one of which is through home charging services for electric vehicles.
PLN President Director, Darmawan Prasodjo, said that his party had collaborated with the Brand Holder Sole Agent (ATPM) or electric vehicle dealer to provide home charging installation services.
So, how much does it cost to install home charging? So, for every purchase of an electric vehicle, the installation of home charging is carried out by PLN officers without any charge or free.
“So, every time there is a buyer of an electric vehicle, PLN officers will immediately go to the buyer’s house to install home charging, so that they can be more comfortable in using an electric vehicle,” said Darmawan, quoted from the official PLN website, Monday (9/10/2023).
In his statement, Darmawan also said that home charging services are very important to support the growth of the electric vehicle ecosystem. He explained that the majority of electric cars are used for daily mobility of no more than 100 kilometers, while their own capacity is an average of more than 200 kilometers. This means that users will really need home charging compared to charging at public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU).
“This electric car is like a cellphone. Charging is done at night at each home. SPKLU is only used when traveling long distances,” explained Darmawan.
Meanwhile, the electric power recommended by PLN for charging electric cars at home is a minimum of 7,700 Volt Ampere (VA).
To meet these customer needs, PLN is presenting the Super Everyday promo. This is a new connection promo (PB) for charging at home or home charging. This promotion can be followed by all PLN customer tariff groups, with details of 1 Phase low voltage (TR) customers up to 7,700 VA power and 3 Phase TR customers up to 13,200 VA power.
Through this promo, customers get special prices. 1 Phase customers with a final power option of 7,700 VA will only be charged IDR 850 thousand from the normal price of around IDR 7.49 million.
Meanwhile, 3 Phase customers with a final power option of 13,200 VA only pay IDR 3.5 million from the normal price of around IDR 14.6 million.
Customers will also get a 30 percent discount on electricity rates from 22.00 WIB – 05.00 WIB from home charging usage.
This home charging service is also connected to the Electric Vehicle Digital Services (EVDS) prepared by PLN. This service allows customers to set charging times and view the charging history of electric vehicles.
