A new local manufacturer with the brand “Labrains” has entered the Latvian natural cosmetics market for people with problematic facial skin.
The company’s chemists, with more than 15 years of experience in the field of cosmetics, have been studying the effects of the natural active ingredients of the northern wetland plants for three years. Together with the researchers of the Latvian Institute of Organic Synthesis, the Labrains laboratory has managed to create a cream that reduces the signs of facial skin aging and the manifestations of rosacea. Cosmetic dermatological testing was performed by SIA “Veselības centrs 4”.
“I am very pleased that Labrains laboratory was the first in the world to prove the creation of a unique natural dermocosmetic product, as evidenced by market research. During three years of research and testing, when we created an average of 200 variants for each product, we have achieved “We are proud of a unique cream that is not yet offered by any cosmetics manufacturer. It is a 100% natural cream that can restore facial skin without causing irritation, but on the contrary – soothes reddened, rosacea – affected skin,” says “Labrains” manager, dr. oec. Līga Brūniņa.
Natural cosmetics are experiencing explosion in popularity all over the world, but so far there has been a lack of products for people with problematic skin, L. Brūniņa admits.
Taking into account that the company is working on new products and the demand for those already on the market is growing rapidly, in 2020 a decision was made to increase production capacity by building a new plant. More than 100,000 euros have already been invested in its construction.
SIA “Labrains” is waiting for an answer on the loan of the financial institution “Altum” for business start-ups for the purchase of a production line and construction of production premises in compliance with the GMP standard. It is planned that the new production line will start operating in the middle of 2021.
The company is currently in the testing phase offering dermocosmetics to young people suffering from acne. Work is also underway to create skin care products for people with dermatitis.
The company points out that with the support of funds dedicated to European Union (EU) scientists, the Labrains laboratory has studied a special delivery system that could increase the efficiency of natural cosmetics. The current research project “Development of high-quality natural cosmetics for dermatitis-affected skin using innovative curing systems”, supported by the EU co-financed program “Support for the development of new products and technologies within centers of excellence”, aims to develop skin cleansing and moisturizing products. which will not contain irritating chemical ingredients, including those of natural origin.
“As our rosettes – an anti-age cream that both regenerates the facial skin and helps reduce redness, as well as other rosacea and anti-age products are already in demand outside Latvia and their quality studies show good results, starting extensive international trade , we want to promote the understanding of the world ‘s natural wealth of Northern wetland plants, “admits L. Brūniņa.
