MediaMarkt, LeroyMerlin, el Corte Inglés, when can large supermarkets and their stores open for the coming weeks of de-escalation? Well, from what we know of the information sent from Moncloa in the document that they published just before the entry into phase 0 on May 4, will not be up to ‘phase 2’ when the “new normal” begins in the big malls.
When will I be able to buy clothes in a small store? And in a shopping center?
If it is by appointment, from Phase 0 you can visit businesses that offer individual attention to their customers, to whom they must guarantee maximum individual protection. As of Phase I, clothing stores will normally be able to open as long as they meet the capacity and distance conditions.
Shopping centers can be visited from Phase II on, with limited capacity. Staying in common areas or recreational areas will be prohibited in that Phase II.
What safety and hygiene measures should I follow?
From Phase 0 you can open the retail business that occupies an area of less than 400 square meters, always by appointment and guaranteeing individual attention.
A Health Order published on May 3 describes in detail all hygiene and safety measures that businesses must follow, for example:
- Cleaning the premises twice a day (one of them at the end of the day).
- The daily washing of the uniform.
- The impossibility of using the toilets except necessity.
- The use of bins so that waste is controlled.
- Or sanitizing the changing rooms after each use.
Workers will not be able to have COVID-19 symptoms, a positive diagnosis or be in quarantine. Preferential care for those over 65 will also be established in the time slots in which they can go for a walk or play sports.
The other “big” question
Terraces They will be able to open from Phase I, although with a limited capacity. Locals will be able to serve at the tables or prepare take-away drinks from Phase II, always with a guarantee of separation and limited capacity.
In Phase III, capacity will be extended and bar service will be allowed with the separation between clients to be determined. Nightclubs and bars may open with limited capacity.
On opening gyms
Gyms are considered non-professional sports activities. It will depend on whether they are gyms in open or closed spaces.
The gyms in closed spaces will begin to resume their activity in Phase I but only for individual activity, that does not involve physical contact or use of changing rooms and by appointment. Already in Phase II they will continue with more people and the same rules of social distance than for other establishments in Phase II.
