The Governing Board of the Palma City Council has approved the reinforcement contract for the Municipal Reception Service for victims of gender violence, which will go from 47 assistance places to 63, that is, 16 places, 34% more than there were until now .
In a press release, Cort explained this Wednesday that the purpose of this service is to welcome victims of gender violence living in Palma and their minor children, in cases where they need a temporary shelter to replace their home, either because they do not have an address to live in or because they have to leave it for security or other reasons.
According to a technical report prepared by the Social Justice, Feminism and LGTBI area in June, the crisis derived from COVID-19 and the pertinent declaration of the state of alarm “has caused an exponential increase” in victims.
For this reason, the Consistory has approved to increase the benefit by 137 hours per month that will be distributed as follows: 20 for psychologist, 20 for social work technician, 20 for coordinator, 20 for social education technician, 10 for orientation technician work, 40 the monitor and seven of the maintenance assistant. This extension will mean an increase in spending of 11,447.64 euros per month.
On the other hand, the supply contract for the lease of vehicles for the City Council for the next five years has also been given the green light for an amount of 894,432 euros.
These are five electric passenger cars, three electric combi vans, six electric cargo vans and one adapted combi van. The duration of the contract will be five years from the receipt of the vehicles.
As for the Municipal Sports Institute, the Board has approved the basic project to change the grass of the football fields of Son Fuster. The overall contractual budget for the projected works will be 472,074 euros.
