As the demand for more detailed power supply information increases, CORSAIR® will rely on more advanced credentials from Cybenetics for both efficiency and noise, and moving away from the 80 PLUS certificate.

As part of this process, CORSAIR is committed to improving consumer awareness of the differences between Cybenetics and 80 PLUS so they can buy with confidence when choosing a PSU that has undergone rigorous testing to ensure best performance, efficiency and acoustics.

Why Cybenetics testing is the new standard

Cybenetics certification provides a more comprehensive assessment of PSU performance than before. Efficiency is still rated based on a well-known serial system in the form of bronze, silver, gold, platinum and titanium certifications, making the transition easy for PC enthusiasts. However, the Cybenetics test is much more precise and accurate than 80 PLUS, resulting in more accurate results. Cybenetics has made huge strides in the industry in recent years for many reasons:

• Better efficiency data: Cybenetics provides a detailed efficiency profile for different loads, environments and operating conditions, representing real use more accurately.
• Sound level rating: In addition to efficiency, Cybenetics includes a sound certification that classifies PSUs according to their acoustic performance, from A++ (almost silent) to F (noisy). This is especially true for gamers and professionals who need quieter systems.
• More data points: The Cybenetics test method produces thousands of data points across each load, rather than the handful of measurements produced through 80 PLUS tests, ensuring more accurate results.
