The special communal delegation of Bobo, in collaboration with the National Anti-Corruption Network (REN-LAC), organized this Wednesday, April 19, 2023 an awareness workshop for the benefit of the municipal police anti-corruption committee and its delegates. The work took place in the town hall of arrondissement N°5.
For a virtuous management of resources, particularly in the care of internally displaced persons (IDPs), the municipality of Bobo equips its actors to prevent cases of corruption. It is for this purpose that this awareness workshop was initiated for the benefit of the anti-corruption committee of the municipal police and municipal delegates. According to the president of the special delegation, Adama Bidiga: “This activity was organized with the aim of fighting against corruption within the community”. « In 2020, the municipality of Bobo set up an anti-corruption committee within the municipal police. This activity aims to introduce this committee. Given that we are in a context of insecurity which would require our resources to be used judiciously, we deemed it appropriate to combine this workshop with a communication that could be of interest to all the delegates. It is about terrorism and the link it has with corruption. It is also an opportunity for us to raise awareness among all community stakeholders and invite them to manage public funds virtuously. But as the first leaders, we must set an example so that the ground is cleared by the end of the transition. “, he added. Several communications will be liked during these works which last 24 hours. Assane Kindo is the representative of REN-LAC in the Hauts-Bassins and also communicator at this workshop. According to him, this meeting is part of the support of REN-LAC to state services in the field of the fight against corruption. And to add that the work aims above all to present the anti-corruption committee of the municipal police and to explain its place and its role in the community. Also, it is a question of talking about the vision of REN-LAC on terrorism and corruption and what perspectives especially at the local level. “Bobo-Dioulasso is a massive reception center for IDPs and this should lead us to take effective measures to avoid acts of terrorism”, further indicated Mr. Kindo who recalls that any structure can be accompanied by REN-LAC for the establishment of an operational mechanism to prevent corruption within it.
