« A delegation from the National Commission for the Fight against Corruption and Illicit Enrichment led by its president Mr. Nestor Mbou, was received today in audience by General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, President of the Transition, President of the Republic, Chief of State.

After presenting its pleasantries and sending its congratulations to the Head of State for the liberation coup which led to the establishment of the CTRI on August 30, the CNLCEI delegation discussed with the President of the Republic the questions relating to the functioning of the said body since its creation. As a reminder, the CNLCEI’s missions are to prevent, detect and report acts of corruption, illicit enrichment and similar or related offenses according to the new article 5 of law no. 041/2020 of March 22, 2021. .

In this context, the CNLCEI took advantage of this meeting to provide the Head of State with a batch of property declaration forms stamped ”Special Transition”, in accordance with article 39 of the Transition Charter.

Making the fight against corruption a major axis of his magisterium, the President of the Transition, General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema has instructed the regulatory body to work to pursue the depositary of State authority. .
