Corruption: an evil that continues to threaten development

Given the many and continuous cases of corruption that have been registered for years in all the orders of the country, so many that it is now classified as one of the most affected by this scourge in the world, the prospect of a radical change has decided that in the last elections they are a president and new left-wing actors were elected, albeit unknown and sometimes even feared for their radicalism, in the hope that such a state of affairs would change.

But such a thing has become impossible since the values have already been upset and the customs in Colombia have been altered in such a negative way, that for the current government of the “Historic Pact” and its members, the misuse was also valid. and property abuse. community, however, which was what they condemned and offered to change during campaign periods.

A clear example of this is represented by the abusive spending made by the First Lady, Verónica Alcocer, when she was designated by the government of her “austere husband” as a “special mission ambassador”, by decree 1863 of 2022 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, for go, accompanied by his image consultant and a photographer, (?) to impose the Boyacá Cross in Oslo, Norway, on Ambassador John Petter Opdahi (?); (¿) Shopping in Paris (?), And attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York with your spouse, to travel from there to (¿) accompany the Chancellor to Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in England and Tokyo those of the murdered former Prime Minister of Japan, Shinzo Abe (?), apparently of the extreme left, all this has resulted in the expenditure of 63,747,872.00 dollars, paid entirely with public money.

This being the case, it is no longer an exaggeration to say that the expected change has definitely not happened and that we continue to be immersed in the “anti-culture” of using public treasury resources to our advantage, which has also gone as far as extreme, as we are observing it, to elect legislators and appoint ministers, ambassadors, union and even community leaders, without reviewing their past, or more often than not knowing their illegitimate behavior or collusion with obscure businessmen, allowing them to exercise their mandate and also to legislate in favor of them or their customers, out of group solidarity or out of gratitude for the favors received or expected.

So that the appointees in turn appoint co-religionists in positions of trust and direction that facilitate their predatory task or collaborate with them, with which corruption spreads and becomes generalized.

Given that there is only room for censorship and denunciation by us who are convinced that the abuses, corruption and fraud of the law must be fought, wherever they come from and whoever carries them out, without subjective discrimination in their evaluation.

Aspiring to add to these reproaches the legal sanction that such behaviors deserve and above all to the most effective: “the social” which is expressed in the reporting and refusal that the opinion must give to those who act in this way without measuring the incidence that those who they have, in the low levels of development of the country, in its degree of backwardness and in the high levels of violence that we have reached, like the government of the former guerrilla Petro, continues to say the struggle to achieve “total peace. “
