Corrientes native Andrés Herrera left River and won the Leagues Cup

Corrientes native Andrés Herrera, with a past at River, joined the Columbus Crew franchise and won the Leagues Cup

Herrera had the chance to win the Leagues Cup with Columbus Crew, a competition that last year was won by Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.

Columbus Crew defeated Los Angeles Galaxy 3-1 in the final and thus won the Leagues Cup. The former River player was on the bench and just a few days after joining the franchise, a new title was added to his list of achievements.

Columbus Crew was one of the teams that beat Inter Miami, the defending champion. It should be noted that Herrera has not yet played in the team but has been on the bench since his arrival in early January.

Herrera, who was confirmed several times by Martín Demichelis, finally left the institution due to irregular performances, which later led to the arrival of Fabricio Bustos to reinforce the position.
