Pilgrims who make the Camino de Santiago as they pass through Palencia will be able to walk again without carrying their luggage thanks to the Post Office Backpack Pack. After the end of the state of alarm and the opening of the borders of the autonomous communities, Correos has re-launched its Pack Backpack in the main routes of the Camino de Santiago, the service with which the pilgrims’ backpacks and suitcases are transported from one accommodation to another.
From June 1, the service is available on the French Way from Roncesvalles and Somport, on the Portuguese Way from Tui and A Guarda, on the Primitive Way from Oviedo, on the Northern Way from Irún, on the English Way from Ferrol , on the Sanabrés Way from Ourense, on the Winter Way from Ponferrada and on the Way to Fisterra and Muxía.
The postman will come from 8:00 in the morning to collect the luggage of the pilgrims who book this service in the indicated accommodation and will leave it in the next one before 14:30. In addition, the Paq Mochila incorporates a notification system by which the pilgrim will receive in his email a notice of collection and delivery of luggage, allowing you to carry out your stage without worries and free of charges.
The Paq Mochila de Correos service is developed taking into account all the health recommendations and the indications of the different protocols published by the administrations to guarantee safety on the Camino de Santiago.
Correos has increased the security measures in all its services to protect workers and customers. It has the AENOR certification, which recognizes that the preventive measures, procedures and action protocols implemented by the company against the risk of Covid-19 comply with the instructions of the competent health authorities in the matter.
In addition, Correos will facilitate the reservation and online payment of the service as much as possible, to avoid paying in cash: the Paq Mochila can be contracted on the web www.paqmochila.com through a simple form available in nine languages.
