The Federal District Military Police (PMDF), this Friday morning (15), located a suspicious bag near one of the annexes at the Chamber of Deputies. In a statement, the group said that the Bomba Team, in the middle of a preventive patrol in the area, activated Operation Petardo, which specialized in explosives, to investigate the object.

“After a technical assessment, it was found that there were no explosives in the bag. The area was then vacated and the situation returned to normal”, the PMDF pointed out in the statement.

Operation Petardo describes a standard procedure carried out by the group for incidents where an explosive device is suspected.

On Wednesday (13), Praça dos Três Poderes was the target of explosions, at the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and in one of the parking areas of the Chamber of Deputies.

The person responsible for the attacks, identified as Francisco Wanderley Luiz, died at the scene of one of the explosions.
