The São Paulo Civil Police opened an investigation to identify the practice of obscene acts by medical students at the Santo Amaro University (Unisa), who were naked and touched their genitals during a volleyball game that was played by women in the city. of São Carlos, in the interior of São Paulo.

This weekend, videos and images of medical students running naked and touching their private parts while a women’s volleyball game was taking place went viral on social media. The videos show students with their pants down while the Unisa women’s volleyball team played against students from Centro Universitário São Camilo.

According to Centro Universitário São Camilo, the episode occurred between April 28th and May 1st this year, during Calomed (a university event that brings together medical students). In a statement, Centro Universitário São Camilo reported that students from its Medicine course participated in the event and played a game against the Unisa team.

“The students of that university (Unisa), having emerged victorious, according to collected reports, celebrated by running naked around the court. At that time, no complaints were registered by our students regarding sexual harassment”, informed São Camilo, in a note.

The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat reported that a police report was registered at the São Carlos General Investigations Station after the images were circulated on social media. “According to information collected so far, students from a university’s men’s futsal team invaded the court and began parading around naked shortly after the team they supported won a women’s volleyball match against another institution. In videos circulating on the internet, it is possible to see the group show their genitals and, subsequently, perform obscene acts facing the court”, says the note sent by the secretariat.

The Civil Police will send requests to the universities involved in the episode and also to the São Carlos Municipal Sports Department. According to the Security Secretariat, steps will be taken to identify and hold the students responsible.

This Monday (18), the Ministry of Women repudiated the students’ act and demanded accountability from those involved. “Attitudes like those of Unisa medical students can never be normalized – they must be combated with the rigor of the law,” the ministry wrote on social media.

The Agência Brasil report attempted to contact Unisa, but, until the publication of this report, was unsuccessful.
