After the capture of Pablo Muentesformer assemblyman of the Social Christian Party in the early hours of today, March 4, after his home, in Samborondón, had been raided by the Prosecutor’s Office, in an operation called “Purge” and derived from the Metastasis Case, the first to emerge in his Defense was the former president, a fugitive from justice, Rafael Correa.
In his X account, Correa specified: “This is Salazar’s “revenge” for the dismissal of Murillo – his operator in the Judiciary Council – with the votes of the PSC.”
In the operation, the Prosecutor’s Office also raided the homes of Johan M., Reinaldo C., Henry T., Alberto L., Guillermo V. Fausto A., Saúl M., Nelson P. and Fabiola Gallardo Ramiawho were captured after 20 tax processes since 03:00 in the morning in Guayaquil and Samborondón.
El Universo reported that the home and office of the current president of the Court of Justice of Guayas, Hugo González, were also raided this morning. The Prosecutor’s Office has so far not reported his arrest.
