NEW YORK – New York authorities are investigating the macabre discovery of a body that was loaded into a wheelbarrow and dumped in the parking lot of a Brooklyn home.
Police said home security cameras in the area of 72nd Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway, in Dyker Heights, captured gruesome and shocking images of the body being dumped in the back of a driveway around 11 a.m. Tuesday.
A man was seen on surveillance footage using the pushcart to carry the body down the street before he left it in the driveway of a home.
The man who was seen on camera is not being labeled as a suspect at this point in the investigation, according to police.
A neighbor who saw the swarm of officers after the terrifying discovery said the neighborhood is a “very nice area” and the man may not have died in the area.
The identity of the victim was not immediately clear, nor was the cause of his death. The body did not appear to have any signs of trauma. An autopsy is pending.
The victim has not been identified and an investigation is ongoing.
