Corovavirus: a first surgical mask reimbursed by Social Security

Seized 3 days after the end of confinement, the High Health Authority (HAS) gave the green light on Tuesday June 30 to reimburse a surgical mask manufactured by the Majorelle laboratory.

The committee recommended “that the Assanis surgical mask be supported for patients with Covid-19 and patients at high risk of developing a serious form of infection”. The Parisian laboratory indicates in a press release that this decision “will make it possible to strengthen access to masks conforming to European standards for the most fragile and destitute”.

Regarding the price, negotiations are ongoing between the laboratory and the Economic Committee for Health Products (CEPS). This mask, once a fixed price, “will be the first (to be) entered on the list of reimbursable products and services,” said Health Insurance.
