In New York, the rate of deaths is accelerating. The Covid-19 currently kills one every three minutes. The face of the American megalopolis has been turned upside down. In Times Square, the square is completely empty, the streets deserted and the only sounds are the sirens of the ambulances which lead the sick towards the hospitals. In the heart of Central Park, it is a field hospital that was installed to accommodate more than 70 patients in an attempt to relieve the hospitals.
The governor of New York has said there will be a shortage of medical staff. 2,000 nurses and 500 paramedics are converging on the town as reinforcements. The coronavirus spares no one. A thousand police officers are sick. The peak of the contagion is expected in mid-April and President Donald Trump warned on Tuesday March 31 that we had to prepare for very difficult weeks.
