Coronavirus worldwide: Merck tests drug against COVID-19 – World

The United States has eased the travel conditions of U.S. citizens to more than 110 countries and territories by changing the risk assessments for carrying COVID-19, Reuters reported.

For 61 countries, the risk has been reduced by the most dangerous “level 4”, with the travel ban being replaced by a recommendation to be visited only by fully vaccinated. For another 50 countries, the index has been lowered to “level 2” or “level 1”, including Singapore, Israel, South Korea, Iceland, Belize and Albania.

Bulgaria has moved to “level 3”, which also includes France, Ecuador, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, South Africa, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Honduras, Hungary, Poland, Denmark and Italy.

The US State Department will now review its travel recommendations to reflect the changes.

All non-US citizens who have been to China, the United Kingdom, Ireland, India, South Africa, Brazil, Iran and the 26 Schengen countries have been banned from entering the United States for the past 14 days.

Asked why the United States maintains travel restrictions even though some countries now have low levels of infection, while others with high levels have been released, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Rochelle Valensky said the issue is the subject of “interdepartmental talks and we look at real-time data on how we need to move forward. “
