The Bogota Chamber of Commerce announced that it suspended its private vaccination process with which it planned to vaccinate 763,000 people throughout the country. Many companies decided not to pay them and wait for the free doses of the government vaccination plan.
It should be clarified that there are two processes going, the one led by ANDI and the one led by the Chamber of Commerce, who received interest from 21,223 companies, but in the end only 4,444 paid for vaccines for 84,700 employees. They managed to collect just over 20 billion pesos that they are going to return.
This means that the Chamber of Commerce will not administer any vaccine. It was known that they managed to pay them and that is why the process is suspended.
ANDI-led vaccines
The other private vaccination process that is underway is that of the ANDI, which has 2 million doses available.
People who have already received their first dose on behalf of their company have their complete scheme guaranteed, since their employers are part of the ANDI program. For its part, if your company is part of the Chamber of Commerce program this week they will be telling you which way to go.
More than 50% of the doses were for people 25 to 35 years old, But when they saw the progress of the vaccination plan, they decided to wait a couple of weeks for the government to enable this stage.
Most of the interested parties were small businesses. More than 2,000 requested between 1 and 5 vaccines, only 137 companies requested more than 100 vaccines.
