Coronavirus: two nurseries closed in the Chartrons district in Bordeaux

Following positive tests for Covid-19, two nurseries have been closed since Wednesday evening in Chartrons. All municipal nurseries will be closed from July 24 to August 24, 2020.

Closed since July 15, two agents from the Chartrons crèche 1, rue Leybardie, tested positive this Friday, July 17 announcing a press release from the town hall. The agents work in the means section and the children in this section have all been tested without any positive cases.

At the same time, a child from the adults’ section, who only attended the nursery one day on July 15, tested positive. The Regional Health Agency (ARS) has decided to test the children with whom it was in contact and announces that it wants to test in the next few hours all the children as well as the agents of the neighboring crèche, Chartrons 2.

In addition, at the Barreyre crèche, a maintenance worker was also tested positive. A screening will be carried out in the coming hours on the other agents and the children while the parents have been warned by SMs.

Unfavorable development

Since July 12, the Gironde has been placed by the ARS Nouvelle-Aquitaine in “moderate vulnerability”, with an “unfavorable change in health indicators” (number of positive cases, new clusters, increase in activity of SOS doctors, new Covid hospitalizations).

Pierre Hurmic, mayor of Bordeaux, calls on the people of Bordeaux to be extremely vigilant:

“Respect for barrier gestures must remain strict, especially in the face of risky situations such as the gathering of people in the city center, festive gatherings, private events (family reunions, parties, weddings, etc.), returns from travel to the city. ‘foreigner, etc. I call on the people of Bordeaux and tourists, to show civility and responsibility, by systematically applying physical distancing, wearing a mask in closed and frequented places and frequent hand washing. “
