Twelve cumulative deaths in the Nièvre

In the Nièvre, three new deaths are to be deplored, Tuesday, April 14, in hospitals, according to data from Public Health France, bringing the number of deaths to twelve in the department.

“These three new deaths concern a 92 year old woman living in Nevers, a 91 year old woman living in Varennes-Vauzelles and an 84 year old man from Saint-Père. All three were hospitalized in Nevers, “says Denis Thuriot, mayor of Nevers and chairman of the hospital’s supervisory board and of the committee of elected officials from the regional hospital group.

52 people are hospitalized, according to him, including nine in intensive care. To date, 145 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus, five more than the previous day out of 749 people tested in hospitals, within the framework of the regional hospital group (GHT), to which not all establishments belong. (like the Clamecy hospital) and not all nursing homes, some of which are private.

40 people treated in a hospital environment have now been discharged.

Denis Thuriot also notes that the verbalizations are down and that the confinement is rather well respected by the population. However, he is concerned about the decline in activity in the emergency room. “If there are fewer accidents at work and fewer accidents on the road, people with chronic illnesses should continue to come, but they are afraid of being infected in the hospital. It is a mistake, because the patients of Covid-19 are really in a separate sector and these people risk more by not treating themselves, “he regrets.

The first hospital deaths in Nièvre:

  • a 64-year-old man, living in La Machine, announced on April 7 (the family of Jean-Pierre Dorigo, who died on April 6 in Nevers hospital, wishes to clarify that it is not about him)
  • an 89-year-old man living in Cosne-sur-Loire, announced on April 3
  • a 70 year old man living in Marzy, who was in intensive care at the hospital in Nevers, announced on April 2
  • a 90 year old man living in Nevers, announced on April 1)
  • a 92-year-old man living in Varennes-Vauzelles, “presenting other pathologies”, and a 90-year-old woman living in Dornes, announced on March 31.
  • a 90-year-old man from Nevers, announced on April 10.

In Burgundy-Franche-Comté, 1,361 patients are still hospitalized, including 285 in intensive care, announces the regional health agency (ARS), in its press release of April 14.

The total number of deaths in hospitals rose to 551, 39 more than the previous day. There are no new deaths to be deplored in the medico-social establishments of the region, the balance remaining there of 279 deaths. A total of 1,488 people have returned home, on the mend, 25 more than the day before.

The ARS specifies that on the weekend of April 11 and 12, throughout France, the new platform “lending a helping hand” met with “great success: 1,500 volunteers declared nationwide in three days, including 200 for
Burgundy-Franche-Comté. “It invites” anyone whose professional profile can lend a hand a few hours or a few
days “to apply on the” lend a hand “site.
