In a press release published today, the Regional Health Agency indicates that cases of hospitalizations due to covid-19 are increasing in Occitanie and Gard.
There are now 1,774 hospitalizations in progress in Occitania, or 106 more than during the last point of the ARS. The cases in intensive care and critical care are also on the rise: they are 385 or 35 more. In addition, 73 people died in hospitals in the Region in four days. Out of the 13 departments of Occitanie, 11,545 positive cases are detected on average each day.
848 people have died in Gard since the start of the health crisis
In the Gard, there are currently 264 hospitalizations in progress, including 68 in intensive care and critical care. Since March 2020, 848 people have died from covid-19 in healthcare facilities. The Gard incidence rate (1,374.8 per 100,000 inhabitants) is the third highest in the Region after the Pyrénées-Orientales (1,850.6) and Hérault (1,567.9).
Since the start of the health crisis, 10.9 million doses of vaccines have been administered in Occitania and 2.1 million Occitans have already benefited from a booster dose, or 48.7% of people vaccinated.
