583 new cases in South Korea, 8 months high
South Korea has registered 583 new cases of Covid-19, of which 553 of domestic transmission: it is the highest level in over 8 months, which feeds fears about the consistency of the third wave of infections in the country. The total number of infections has risen to 32,318, reported the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (Kdca), noting that today’s surge followed weeks of cases equal to 100-300 units daily. The infections are mainly linked to widespread outbreaks in offices, schools, gyms and meetings in the large metropolitan area of Seoul.
