The Ministry of Health has published this Wednesday the update of the figures for infections, hospitalizations and deaths from coronavirus in Spain. Regarding Tuesday’s report, the total number of people infected by COVID-19 has increased by 8,788. With this, the national total of infected already rises to 3,326,736 people since the start of the pandemic. Of the almost 9,000 cases reported this Wednesday a third are registered in Madrid (2.946),
The report also reflects 126 new deaths by COVID-19 with respect to Tuesday’s data, so the official death toll since the beginning of the pandemic amounts to 76,037.
Regarding the cumulative incidence at the national level, this Wednesday is at 167.97 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days, which represents an ascent of 3.26 points with respect to the last known data.
Madrid exceeds 300 points of incidence
Navarra (369,63), Madrid (302.11) and Basque Country (279,58) are the three autonomous communities that exceed the extreme risk limit, which is 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In addition, the autonomous cities of Melilla (459.37) and Ceuta (391,91) far exceed this barrier.
On the other hand, only four autonomous communities have incidents of less than 100 cases per 100,000 inhabitants: Galicia (67,03), Baleares (62,14), Murcia (62.33) and Valencian Community (31.64), which is the only one that remains even below 50.
By autonomous communities, they are registered strong rises of the incidence accumulated in Melilla (+26.41), Ceuta (+24.94), Aragon (+16.85), Madrid (+14.42) and Castilla-La Mancha (+14.09), while the region with the lowest incidence from one day to the next is Catalonia (-11.44).
Vaccination record in a single day
The Ministry of Health has also published the update of the figures of people vaccinated against the coronavirus with some of the vaccines available in Spain (Moderna, AstraZeneca and Pfizer) and During the last day, 336,846 doses of the vaccines have been administered, a new record in our country in a single day.
With today’s update, Spain has already administered 9,357,847 doses of the three vaccines against COVID-19, 78.6% of the doses delivered to the autonomous communities.
Are already 6,416,016 people who have received at least one vaccine against the coronavirus in Spain, which represents 16.0% of the total population to be vaccinated. In addition, 2,941,831 people already have the complete regimen, that is, they have received both doses of the vaccine. They are 7.3% of the total number of Spaniards to be vaccinated.
